Ash Allen is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Using experimental photography and alternative photo processes he produces work on canvas, glass and other materials. Allen's work is a study of queer identity and personal transformation.
By means of portraiture and photo-manipulation, Ash explores the conceptual boundaries that separate our physical and spiritual realities. Meditation and observations of the mind have a profound impact on his work. Allen's creative process includes printmaking techniques that rely heavily on light and water- both of which represent vitality- mirroring the ethereal themes in his work.
